Capabilities to create and run performance test scenarios are available in the NeoLoad Runtime section. The tabs in the runtime section are as follows:
- Scenarios
- Runtime Summary
- Runtime graphs.
- Runtime problems
- Runtime Warnings
- Time-based users
The scenario is then created when the recording of the NeoLoad script and the configuration of the population are complete. Make sure all your scripts are functionally sound and produce the intended results before you start building the script.
You need to know the values of all the main inputs such as user load, test duration, ramp, ramp, steady state period, expected TPS, pace, etc. when building a stage. Without these inputs, you cannot create a proper scenario or workload model. The project team or customer can provide some of these inputs, but you may need to calculate some of them using Little’s Law. To accurately model a workload based on the available inputs, you can also use the following calculators:
- Tempo calculator
- Virtual User Calculator
- TPS Calculator
- mind time calculator
Once you have entered all the necessary information, use the ‘Runtime’ tab of the NeoLoad tool.

A warning popup may ask you to create a population first if you haven’t already. You must click ‘OK’.

Give the name of the ‘Population’ and choose the best answer from the following three:
For many test scenarios, create a population with all the specified user paths.
Create a population for a single test case with a single user path.
Avoid entering any population
