An open-source performance testing tool is Apache JMeter. It is a Java-based tool useful for evaluating the performance of a web application. One of the tools that outperforms the fastest licensed tools is JMeter. While there is no formal certification for Apache JMeter, some organizations, including BlazeMeter and VSkills, offer online training and certification on the software.
Such certification exams are the perfect option if you use JMeter as a performance testing tool in your company and want to assess your competency. Let’s start with the certification process.
How to enroll and pass the JMeter certification:
Visit the website: https://university.blazemeter.com/
- Create an account if you are a new user.
- Provide information such as your email ID and password.
- BlazeMeter will send a confirmation email to the provided email address.
- Log in to the provided email account and click the confirmation link in BlazeMeter’s email.
- Once your email address is verified, you will be directed to the control panel.
The following 5 courses are automatically enrolled when you first log in and are visible on the dashboard:
- Introduction to simulated services with BlazeMeter
- JMeter – Introduction to Apache Pro JMeter
- Master Performance Testing with BlazeMeter: The Complete Taurus Course
- Launch the program when you are ready or need it.
Read or view material related to the topics provided. Each issue should be read in its entirety, and if there is a video available for it, watch them all without skipping before moving on to the next one.
You may need to do several intermediate knowledge test exercises. Despite being multiple choice questions, the result will not be included in the final grade for the course.
The final exam module will be enabled once you have completed the course and are ready to take the test. If your score meets or exceeds the specified passing criteria, Blazemeter generates a “Certificate of Completion” with your name and the score you have earned. You can upload this certificate to your local system yourself.
You can retake the exam if you don’t pass it, but you only get one chance in three.
The expiration date for all courses and certifications must be met, which is 30 days from enrollment. The first log in or registration date is the registration date.
Cost of Apache JMeter BlazeMeter Intro and Pro level certifications:
JMeter Intro and Pro level training and certification are free. There are no costs associated with these certifications.
In addition to offering certificates and badges of completion, BlazeMeter also gives points, badges, and skill levels.
You can skip the “Apache JMeter – Intro” course by going directly to the certification exam. This is a good way for a JMeter expert to get to the ‘Pro’ or ‘Master’ level without investing time in ‘Intro’ level training.
